چکیده :
The temperature of the stator windings is a critical parameter in the condition monitoring of generators, as it directly influences both the insulation longevity and the overall operational reliability of the machine. It is well established that an increase in winding temperature by approximately 8–10 °C beyond the rated threshold can result in a reduction of insulation life by up to 50%. This study aims to investigate the root causes of abnormal temperature rise in a gas turbine generator under operational conditions. The analysis focuses on the dominant heat transfer mechanisms within the stator windings and examines the impact of key operating parameters, including electrical load variations and cooling system performance. The results demonstrate that deviations from nominal service conditions and operational irregularities can lead to thermal excursions beyond acceptable limits. These findings highlight the necessity of continuous thermal monitoring and comprehensive performance analysis to mitigate the risk of insulation degradation and to ensure the long-term reliability of generator systems.
