Advanced Sensorless Control and Torque Optimization for Switched Reluctance Motors: A Cost-Effective Approach

چکیده :
In today's industries, Switched Reluctance Motors (SRMs) are widely used due to various advantages, such as low structural cost, wide operating speed range, high torque output, and efficient performance. A suitable current control method must be employed to achieve speed control in SRMs. This involves managing the phase current, rotor position, and reluctance with high precision to control the rotor's real-time position and rotational speed. In this article, current control is demonstrated using two methods: PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) and hysteresis control. Conventional feedback methods rely on specific sensors, which increase the system's cost and complexity. This study introduces a sensorless control method for SRMs, enabling the system to estimate the rotor’s position at any moment and provide this information to the control system. The control system includes closed-loop controllers for speed and current. The study utilizes two PI controllers for speed and current control. The proposed control software is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink, and the results are presented.
