چکیده :
This paper presents a novel single-phase integrated battery charger (IBC) for electric vehicles using an open-winding permanent magnet synchronous motor (OW-PMSM) drive, applying model predictive control (MPC). The proposed configuration eliminates the need for additional hardware, such as extra semiconductor switches or passive elements, making it a simple and cost-effective solution. The system utilizes one set of motor windings as a power factor correction (PFC) inverter for grid connection, while the other set is used as a buck inverter for the battery charging stage. The control strategy employs a finite-set model predictive control (FS-MPC) for the PFC stage and a deadbeat MPC for the battery charger, ensuring efficient performance and reduced computational complexity. The proposed IBC system is verified through detailed simulations using PLECS software, demonstrating its viability and effectiveness in practical applications.
