چکیده :
This paper proposes a novel rotor pole design for an axial-field flux-switching permanent magnet machine, aiming to reduce cogging torque, minimize torque ripple, and enhance average torque output. The design features a 12-pole, dual-stator topology with a 10-pole internal rotor configuration, optimized to improve torque characteristics. The proposed construction is derived from the common rotor configuration of axial-field flux-switching permanent magnet machines, where the radial placement of poles is reversed. To deeply study the effectiveness of the proposed idea, sensitivity analysis will be used to identify the importance of geometrical parameters and to select the superior topology in comparison studies. Comprehensive 3D finite element analysis simulations validate the design effectiveness, showing significant reductions in cogging torque and torque ripple, along with an increase in average torque. These findings indicate that the rotor pole design is a promising solution for high-performance electric machines in demanding applications like electric vehicles.
