چکیده :
The presence of air-gaps in the core limb is one of the key factors in designing the magnetic circuit and inductance calculations in core type series reactors. Variations in the length and number of air gaps not only affect the equivalent permeability and core saturation level but also influence the accuracy of modeling. In this study, an axi-symmetric two-dimensional model for dry-type series reactor was developed using finite element models. The inductance values obtained from the simulation were compared with the actual values and the model have been validated. Using the validated FE model, the effect of iron core's air gaps on the reactor inductance under different loading conditions was investigated
