چکیده :
This paper presents the electromagnetic design and performance analysis of a novel delta-type consequent-pole interior permanent magnet (IPM) motor. The goal of this design is to significantly reduce the amount of permanent magnet (PM) material used, thereby lowering manufacturing costs. The proposed configuration features a consequent-pole arrangement within a delta-shaped rotor structure. This design leads to a notable decrease in the volume of PMs while still maintaining strong electromagnetic performance. Finite element analysis (FEA) results show that this new topology effectively improves torque smoothness and reduces cogging torque without a significant decrease in back electromotive force (back-EMF) voltage or rated torque. Therefore, the proposed design strikes an effective balance between performance and material costs, making it an attractive option for applications that prioritize both cost efficiency and high performance.
