چکیده :
This paper evaluates the most common and established methods—IEC 60599, Duval Triangle, Duval Pentagon, and the 90th percentile gas population—for fault detection and classification of DGA results using 2,538 samples and the IEC TC 10 dataset. The aim was to investigate the fault classification accuracy of traditional DGA interpretation techniques using an extended, diverse dataset. The diagnostic efficacy of the methods discussed indicates that the Duval Triangle method achieves better fault classification performance. Furthermore, the accuracy of the methods in identifying both fault category and fault severity was analyzed. The results showed that despite its limited detection range and rigid zone boundaries, the IEC Ratio method provides higher certainty in the faults it identifies.
