3-D Thermal Modeling and Simulation of Wide Band Gap Semiconductor Devices Based CSI-fed PMSM Integrated Motor Drive System

چکیده :
In this paper, three-dimensional (3-D) thermal analysis and design of the cooling system of a wide bandgap (WBG) based CSI-fed PMSM integrated motor -drive system is presented. In this structure, the motor and the drive are integrated in a common enclosure, and their mutual thermal effects are considered. The sources of losses in different components of the motor and drive are calculated and updated using the coupling between the magnetic finite element simulations of the motor and the dynamic simulation of the drive system in MATLAB and PLECS software. The thermal and magnetic simulations are performed in a coupled manner to accurately evaluate the temperature distribution under real operating conditions. The results show that heat transfer in the integrated structure occurs axially and radially, and 3-D thermal modeling is essential for accurate prediction of the thermal behavior of the system.
