Novel Semi-overlapping Winding Layouts in Double Stator Axial Flux PMSM Suitable for EV Application

چکیده :
Enhanced multi-rotor/stator axial flux permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) are gaining popularity across various applications due to their high power density. Owing to their multi-part configuration, researchers have increasingly focused on analyzing and optimizing these machines. Since the winding layout of an electric machine directly influences its performance, adopting shifted coils in a double-stator axial flux PMSM can offer significant improvements over conventional distributed windings. This paper introduces two novel on-tooth winding layouts designed to enhance reliability and simplify the winding process, making them a practical choice for electric vehicle (EV) applications. To validate the proposed winding structures and compare them with alternative configurations, both analytical methods and finite element simulations are employed.
