چکیده :
The use of cascaded H-bridge multilevel converters has been considered due to their advantages. Current sources are attractive options for use in CHB due to their inherent short-circuit protection. In this paper, a single-phase 5-level cascade converter structure for a current source is presented for an induction motor. First, modeling and modulation design are performed. Then, a protection scheme is proposed to prevent the current source from being opened. SIC switches and diodes are used to reduce losses. Finally, it is simulated for accuracy in the Simulink MATLAB and PLECS environments.
