چکیده :
This study presents a reliability analysis framework for induction traction machines (ITMs), with a focus on fault probabilities arising from manufacturing tolerances. Sensitivity analysis is employed to identify the most influential input parameters, enabling dimensionality reduction and streamlining the computational process without compromising accuracy. Reliability is estimated using the Adaptive Response Surface Method (ARSM) combined with directional sampling, while the Moving Least Squares (MLS) surrogate model effectively captures the machine’s nonlinear behavior across multiple physical domains. The framework is evaluated over the full operating range of a 200 kW ITM equipped with spiral water jacket cooling, representative of systems used in heavy- duty electric urban buses. Results demonstrate that the proposed approach accurately quantifies fault probabilities under realistic production conditions, confirming its applicability for industrial-scale reliability assessments.
