چکیده :
As urban development approaches electrical substations, predicting and controlling noise from high-power equipment becomes increasingly important. This paper presents a comprehensive procedure to predict acoustic noise from a large air-core reactor using a finite element model (FEM) implemented in COMSOL Multiphysics. Noise in air-core reactors is driven by Lorentz forces acting directly on the windings. A one-way coupling was used: a Magnetic Field study calculated the volumetric force density, which was then applied in Solid Mechanics to compute structural vibration; the vibrating surfaces were linked to an Acoustic Pressure study to obtain the sound pressure level (SPL) spectrum. Numerical predictions were compared with measurements from an operating reactor. This validated FEM approach provides a crucial, non-intrusive design tool for optimizing winding configurations and noise mitigation strategies.
