چکیده :
The main aim of this paper is presenting a method for modeling surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SMPMSM) with a curved shape permanent magnet based on conformal mapping. By Conformal mapping, a complex geometry of an electric motor is transferred into a simple rectangular geometry to calculate air gap flux density. This method is fast and accurate for analytical air gap flux density and torque calculation. Conformal mapping transformation is presented, then modeling of curved shaped magnets is described. The magnet is divided into several sub domains to model the whole of magnet accurately. The air gap field is achieved by sum of air gap flux density due to stator winding current and air gap flux density due to the rotor magnet. Using maxwell stress tensors, torque is calculated and results of sensitive analysis of magnet span angle and curved magnet end width is presented.
