چکیده :
Hybrid reluctance electric motors integrate the principles of reluctance and Permanent Magnets (PMs). These motors are especially well-suited for electric vehicle applications owing to their superior efficiency, high torque density, and diminished acoustic noise levels. Generally, PMs deal with the low torque density issue of the Switched Reluctance Motors (SRMs). This article proposes a novel structure of a Hybrid Reluctance Motor (HRM). In this design, the PMs are placed on the rotor, enhancing the air gap flux density, leading to a significant increase in torque density. An air gap within the magnetic rotor is also introduced to reduce cogging torque. First, the proposed structure is introduced, and the operating principle of the motor is explained in detail. The influence of the PMs on the motor's performance is analyzed using the Finite Element Method (FEM). To demonstrate the superiority of the HRM, its performance is compared with that of traditional SRM and HRM structures.
