A delta-shape combined pole interior permanent magnet motor with lower permanent magnet cost

چکیده :
The delta-shape interior permanent magnet motor is a well-known type of permanent magnet (PM) motors that is used in many industrial applications. Usually, the same material is selected for all PMs. In the present paper, a new structure is proposed for this motor in which a combination of rare-earth magnet and ferrite magnet is used to form the delta-shape pole. Using the simulation results derived from finite element method (FEM), it is shown that the PM cost is reduced significantly in the suggested structure while the average torque is reduced slightly. Based on the design of experiments (DOE) method, the optimization of the suggested design is also done to maximize average torque and minimize the torque ripple.
